About AFI Professional Register

Acupuncture Foundation Ireland established a Professional Association to offer a Professional Register for acupuncturists working within Ireland. As a professional association we are a leading self-regulatory body for the practice of acupuncture in Ireland.

All Members, from many training institutions in Ireland and elsewhere, who meet agreed professional training standards, comply with a Code of Ethics and Best Practice.

Our Mission

Our mission is to ensure our professional members provide safe, effective acupuncture treatments for a range of conditions. The World Health Organisation has listed a number of conditions which research evidence has demonstrated acupuncture effectively treats.

To ensure that member practitioners are competent, confident and ethical healthcare professionals, skilled in their chosen therapy, who know their limitations and have the ability to deliver a safe and effective treatment.
